For sale – world’s smallest country (Sealand)
January 8th, 2007The tiny island of Sealand off the UK coast is up for sale! This tiny island would make the ideal lair for any dedicated spammer and I believe its well connected with IT links etc and even has a hosting facility already. OK its not quite the hollowed out volcano but it has its own flag, constitution and national anthem…

Anyone up to chip in?….. Larry did the song for the anthem already…

I did think it would be a good base for BT Couterpane’s UK Base – its fairly near MH
I read this on Digg but I can’t find any actual real content about this suposed sale?
I think its on an australian news site and in the times in the uk today but no prices quoted…
Ummmm well I havn’t actually read anywhere about the suposed source of this information.
See the update doubtin thomas – it apparently also appeared in The Times today… you wouldnt have spotted that as I am not sure the Daily Sport covers such things.
I read that story through Digg earlier, but I still don’t see any source of this information. Why would sealand still be taking donations for the fire if they’re supposedly selling the island. I smell bull
OK well thats just fine – looks genuine enough in the news story and tbh they dont seem to update their website very often anyhow
Oh and Also http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2536497.html
If you ask me they’re just trying to hype it up again to sell some news. They can’t just randomly mention it so they have to pretend its for sale.
You can find the original Advertisement at http://www.inmobiliarianaranja.es/sealand.html
Thanks Tim
1) wtf is inmobiliarianaranja
2) “Sealand is Not for Sale, but yes to transfer”
From looking into this a bit further, it appears that sealand is not for sale but rather they are selling the right for someone/a business to live on the island. Obviously IF this is even true then this sale will be aimed at those avoiding tax and such like. But so far none of this ‘news’ has any quoted sources.
