OK Confessional time I suppose

Well for quite a long time I have avoided saying what I am and what I do, in fact I have tried to keep the blog clean of that type of thing. Well its a new year and I dont see the point hiding away so here goes: -

I produce websites to make money (Shock horror)
Some of them could be described as spammy at times but…

I produce sites of all sorts some of them are good useful content produced by hard work and sweat. Some sites are more edgy. Some are pure crap.

My justification for the crap is that when someone searches for a really specific term all the engines return results that are less than ideal. What we so called ’spammers’ do is to provide pages that are specific to that exact phrase and provide adverts on those pages. All this does is put people looking for something specific in front of the advertisers Google determine are ideal for that phrase. Often on specific phrases the targetting for the Adwords ads on the Google serps can be poor too and the targetting of the ad on the Adsense pages is better. We are simply providing a service for the advertiser here and we get paid to do so.

Just as any middleman gets paid for providing a service in the supply chain so do we.

I have no issues with what I do and I can completely understand and support those who feel that spam is a bad thing. What I do isnt spam in my books, Guestbook, Trackback, Comment and Email spam is spam and many people do that to excess which is wrong.

I do nothing more than any normal white or grey hat seo does, its just i do it for subtley different reasons.
