It's just a waste of resources when you can spend 5 minutes and 10 lines of code on preventive measures as you've started in your post. I take a three prong approach that focuses on posting, profiles and proxies. Stop the proxies and you're 75% of the way done. You've gotta admire those people who will join your forum, make the required number of posts to post a link and then get banned for spamming some junk.
